OUR VALUES
OUR CORE VALUES
Artemisia Academy hopes to instill the following values through our students in all we do:
1. HONOR THYSELF AND PUT SELF-CARE FIRST
-
That healing others should not come at your own body's expense.

-
That through self knowledge and rigorous honesty, we can get to the core of our needs and heal generational wounds and traumas.

-
That as healers, we have to be leader's in this healing by being a living example that we should value our own healing above those we care for, not out of selfishness, but out of necessity to be role models for those we help.

2. INTEGRITY

-
That by living, working, and teaching with openness, honesty and having moral principles, we can create a better world.

-
As practitioners, it is of utmost importance to know the distinction between right and wrong, and demonstrating this in all we do. Broken healers hurt people, Healed Healers Heal People.

-
That it is not only okay to have boundaries, but necessary, that by showing our own needs have value, others may recognize that they have needs too.

3. AUTHENTICITY

-
That living in our truth, being honest, and being prepared to show Vulnerability. Healing often comes from seeing others who have walked the path before you. Being true to who YOU are gives others the chance to do the same.

-
That it is okay to be where you are at. We all take time to learn and it sometimes takes YEARS to heal. Life is truly more about the journey than the destination. Showing up as your perfectly flawed human self means you humbly accept where you are on the journey, and that you still have room to grow.

4. COMMUNITY

-
That our work as healers is the gift AND privilege of being of service to those around us. That in our giving and helping others, we in turn are being given our purpose and fulfilling our true calling.

5. ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
-
That our job as herbalists is not only to help others, but to be the history keepers and storytellers of the land, the voice of the plants, and to pass on the wisdom of those that have come before us.

-
It is our responsibility as herbalists to develop a two way relationship with our natural environment and the land we live. This relationship is built on both giving and taking, through conservation and sustainable practices, and also teaching these principles of the use and protection of our wild lands for generations to come.
