How to Safely ID Plants
Learn about the medicinal and edible weeds of Santa Barbara, move your body, breathe, and reconnect with nature. Come explore the creeks & hillsides of Santa Barbara and enjoy the bounty of herbs along its trails.
During these hikes, you will learn more about the folk, magical, medicinal, and culinary uses of herbs, trees, and shrubs that grow in our own backyard. Safe plant ID and ethical wild crafting will be taught, along with easy to make herbal remedies for everyday ailments. Herb walks are held at various local trails, open spaces, or the Gaviota Coastal area.
To keep our participants safe during COVID-19, we are making sure to follow the CDC's and local health department's regulations for public health and safety. We are currently requiring that all participants wear face coverings and continue to social distance.
Classes will continue as scheduled if there is light rain. If heavy rain or other dangerous weather is predicted, class registrants will be emailed with reschedule info.

WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE

An interactive, hands-on approach to learning herbs and native plants in the area.
Plant ID and safety information.
You will be taught some basic remedies for every day illness.
